This research paper emerged from months of observation, dialogue, and reflection on a concern that is increasingly visible yet often misunderstood—persistent fatigue among Generation Z. Our inquiry began with a simple but pressing question: why are so many teenagers constantly exhausted, and what lies beneath this widespread sense of burnout?

To explore this, we designed a thoughtfully curated questionnaire that reflected Gen-Z norms, routines, and academic realities, collecting responses from nearly seventy individuals. Through analyzing patterns in sleep habits, emotional responses, academic pressures, and daily routines, we identified that much of this fatigue stems not from physical exertion, but from mental overload, overstimulation, and systemic expectations. The process required careful interpretation of both numerical data and emotional nuance, allowing us to better understand the depth of this experience.

Writing this paper encouraged us to move beyond stereotypes and examine how education systems, social dynamics, and lifestyle patterns intersect to shape student well-being. By documenting these findings, we hope this research inspires students, educators, and institutions to reflect, initiate open conversations, and work collectively toward creating healthier, more balanced environments that prevent burnout rather than normalise it.
